Christmas Cheer

Here are some photos I've taken over the past week getting ready for Christmas.  I have not worked on a piece of furniture in weeks, and I'm feeling kind of sad about it.  If the temp rises above 50 I'm all over it.  In the meantime, I've been relaxing and taking in all the fun that is Christmas time. Take a look....
We made a trip out to a Christmas tree farm
Saw this creature, 10 points for whoever knows what this is.
Fed some very friendly goats
It also snowed over the weekend and it made for a perfect time for this
Made from scratch chocolate chip cookies, recipe from Nestle Toulouse(said like Phoebe on friends)
Does anyone remember that episode?

Quick, easy and free mantel decor, I went outside and cut some holly and used free cuttings from our local Whole Foods store. Then I just used stuff from around the house to decorate.
I hope you all have a great week!

  1. Pretty! Your house looks great! My guess on the animal in question is maybe in the llama family?

  2. OMG...every time I make cookies I thing about that episode of Friends! Hillarious!!

  3. It looks like a Scottish Highland Cow with that shaggy coat! (or pronounced "coo" if you're actually in Scotland)Or was it a different variety?
I love y'all's tree! We hope to get ours up this weekend. (In between cups of hot chocolate and hand warmers in this weather!)

  4. Your mantle is gorgeous, and so is the tree, great pics. I want cookies now!

  5. Your daughter is a doll! Such cute photos of her. Your house looks so pretty and festive and now I have a craving for homemade chocolate chip cookies. Not sure about the animal....I was thinking some kind of a cow.

  6. Looks like you had an enjoyable time. The animal photos are so cute!

  7. your house looks beautiful all decorated! And I TOTALLY remember that Friends episode! I've seen em all a million times! I wish I hadn't been sick the past week (still kinda am). WE'll have to try out our errand switching when I get back!

  8. I used holly on my mantel, too, but I went out of town and DH forgot to keep in watered. I guess I'll need to go prune some more bushes! Love your homey home!

  9. Why your cow is a lovely Scottish Highland cow. I've enjoyed browsing thru your blog. very nice.
