Petite dresser

I've been re-doing so many pieces to sell, and none for my own house.  So this weekend I decided to update this small dresser that came as a set from my grandmothers house.  It goes with a desk and a small shelf.  I always remember it sitting in her home before she moved.  She has since passed on, and every time I look at this piece I think of her and the memories from her home.
So, needless to say, I will not be selling this one.
When I first got this piece several years ago, I sanded it down and stained it.  So all the hard work was done already.  I just brushed on the same paint I used on my drop leaf side table, heavily distressed the edges and painted the hardware oil rubbed bronze.

This was my easiest project to date.  I didn't worry as much whether or not a client would like it.
Since it was going in my home, I had to like it.  And I really like it.

Also I want to give a big thank you to all my new followers, I passed 100 this weekend!
I really do enjoy sharing all my pieces with you.
thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.

I love the color and the distressing! If I may ask, what color did you use? What a wonderful piece to remember your grandmother by.

That is so lovely to have that remembrance of your grandmother. You can look at this piece daily and have wonderful memories of her. You have a little part of her in her home! You did a beautiful job. Love the color!

I am loving your blog. All of your pieces are beautiful! How do you do your distressed look? I am wanting to paint some furniture that I have, but I am not sure how to do the distressed look. Do you paint it two colors and then sand? What weight of sand paper do you use? Do you use your hand or a sander? So many questions, sorry! Beautiful work, wonderful blog. Thanks for sharing.

What a great piece! I especially love the way the drawers are finished on the sides, that adds a lot of character. And of course, the fact that it is special to you is the icing on the cake :)
